Kelso and P. Jacobs. Some time ago a meeting of the stock, holders of the Nehalem Coal Company, of which W. J. Cook was promoter, was held in this city. Charges of fraud and misrepresentation were made and proven. In order to appease the stockholders. Mr.Cook stated that they had an oppor tunity to dispose of the coal fields to a syndicate and all they asked was nine months in which to complete the deal The nine months have elapsed and no effort has been made to dispose of the property and the proposition was as mythical as the coal fields.
